Content and Brand Safety Policy

Effective September 15, 2026

This policy describes how IMLeagues screens, reviews, and removes user-generated content on imleagues.com and in the IMLeagues mobile apps. It is written for our advertising and demand partners and complements the User Code of Conduct in our Terms of Use, which every member accepts when creating an account.

1. Who uses IMLeagues

IMLeagues is the recreation management platform used by college and university campus recreation departments and similar organizations ("networks"). Members are participants, staff, and officials of a specific network. Each account belongs to a real person and is typically tied to a verified school email address or a single sign-on identity issued by the school. There is no anonymous posting. Content a member creates is visible only inside that member's network, and messages and comments are visible only to teammates and administrators.

2. Where user content appears

  • Team, group, and club names, logos, and descriptions
  • Member profile names and photos
  • Comments
  • Photos and albums
  • Private and team messages

Each network's administrators control which of these features are enabled for their community.

3. Content standards

The User Code of Conduct in our Terms of Use prohibits, among other things: hate speech and discrimination; harassment, bullying, and threats; sexually explicit or adult content; graphic violence and self-harm; promotion of illegal drugs, weapons, illegal gambling, or other illegal activity; profanity, including in team, group, and player names; impersonation; sharing private information; spam and solicitation; and malware. These rules apply to every content type listed above.

4. How content is screened before it is published

  • Identity gate. Only signed-in members of a network can create content, and only in roles that permit it.
  • Administrator approval. New group and club pages require network-administrator approval before they are created. Team and group name changes requested by participants are queued for administrator approval and do not take effect until approved.
  • Input sanitization. Script content is stripped from every submission on write, and rich-text content is rendered through an allow-list sanitizer that removes scripts, embedded frames, event handlers, and unsafe links.
  • Upload restrictions. Image uploads are limited to standard image formats with enforced size and dimension limits, and executable and web-script file types are blocked. Image search for team logos uses Google Custom Search with SafeSearch enforced.
  • Network controls. Administrators can disable user-content features for their network, and can lock member profile fields, including photos and names, so that members cannot change them.

5. How content is reviewed after it is published

  • Network administrators (campus recreation professional staff) have full moderation controls over their community. They can edit or rename teams and groups; delete posts, comments, photos, and messages; remove members from the network; and suspend members or teams from participation.
  • IMLeagues staff review content reported to us and administrator escalations, and can remove content and suspend or terminate accounts anywhere on the platform.
  • Audit trail. Administrative actions, team name changes, member privilege changes, and account deactivations are logged.

6. Reporting and response times

Members can report content to their network's administrators through the network contact page, or to IMLeagues at support@imleagues.com. Advertising partners can send brand-safety concerns to the same address.

  • Reports are acknowledged within one business day.
  • Reported content is reviewed within 24 hours of the report and actioned within 24 hours of review.
  • Content that is illegal, sexually explicit, or hateful is removed within 4 hours of confirmation, and the account responsible is suspended pending review.

7. Audits

Automated safeguards (identity gating, sanitization, and upload restrictions) run on every submission. IMLeagues support staff review reported content daily. Network administrators review their team lists and community content throughout each season. IMLeagues reviews this policy and the User Code of Conduct quarterly, and reviews its Terms of Use at least annually.

8. Sensitive content categories

  • Adult and sexual content: prohibited in all forms.
  • Hate speech and discrimination: prohibited in all forms.
  • Violence: graphic or glorified violence is prohibited. Ordinary competitive sports language is permitted.
  • Political content: IMLeagues is not a political platform. Campaigning and political advocacy are outside its purpose and are removed when reported, and political content is prohibited in team, group, and player names.
  • Gambling: promotion of gambling or betting is prohibited.
  • Alcohol, drugs, and weapons: promotion of illegal drugs, weapons, or the misuse of alcohol is prohibited.
  • Profanity: prohibited, including in names and logos.

9. Advertising

Advertising on imleagues.com is managed by Playwire LLC, and our authorized sellers are published in our ads.txt file. Ads are not shown in embedded views or to members and networks that have chosen an ad-free experience. Because content that violates the Code of Conduct is removed, ads do not run alongside it. Our data practices for advertising are described in our Privacy Policy.

10. Automated tools

Content screening on IMLeagues is deterministic and rule-based: identity gating, role permissions, approval queues, sanitization, and upload restrictions, backed by human review by network administrators and IMLeagues staff. We do not currently use machine-learning classifiers for moderation. The platform's communities are closed, every author is identifiable, and content volume is low enough that human review is the more accurate control. We evaluate automated screening tools as the platform grows.
